Job summary

Gunnison County is seeking an IT Support Specialist to be the first point of contact for customers needing help with computers, phones, and peripherals. You will troubleshoot issues, document incidents, and provide friendly, timely assistance.

The role requires an Associate Degree in Computer Science or related education, experience with Windows desktops, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and strong communication skills in English. A valid Colorado driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows desktops, Microsoft Office, Active Directory, and M365.
  • Experience supporting telephones, printers, cameras, microphones, cell phones, and tablets.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate in English, orally and in writing.
  • Customer service oriented, patient, and friendly.
  • Able to work under deadlines with interruptions, manage multiple tasks, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to be on-call for emergencies and unusual events.

Job Summary

Position is first point of contact for customers needing assistance with computers, phones, and peripherals.

Pay Rate

The hourly range is from $27.18 to $30.94, depending on experience, plus full benefits.

  • The County pays monthly on the last week day of the month.*
Requirements
  • Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license.
  • Must complete I C S 100 and I C S 700 within the first year of employment (County provided).
  • Must pass CBI background check (County provided).
  • CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) training and certification (County provided).
  • SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) training and certification (County provided).
Qualifications/Education
  • Associate Degree from an accredited school in Computer Science (or related field), or a combination of education, certifications, and experience that County Management deems appropriate.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows desktops, Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Active Directory, and M365.
  • Experience supporting telephones, printers, cameras, microphones, cell phones, and tablets.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate in English, orally and in writing.
  • Customer service oriented, patient, and friendly.
  • Able to work under deadlines with interruptions, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and work productively under minimal supervision.
  • Able to be on-call (in coordination with other IT staff) for emergencies and unusual events.
  • Ability to work independently with access to confidential information used to develop and support managerial positions.
