Job summary

The City of Philadelphia is seeking a motivated Desktop Support Specialist to provide first-line IT support for a diverse user base. You will install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals, assist with account management, password resets, MFA, and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 apps.

Work includes assisting remote and on-site employees, communicating technical issues to nontechnical users, and documenting procedures in knowledge bases.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of PC hardware and operating systems.
• Minimum 2 years in a desktop support role.
• Substitution: MCP Windows 7 or an associate degree can replace experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive incident and information requests and resolve or escalate.
• Monitor progress from intake to resolution and keep customers informed.
• Provide first-line incident resolution for IT problems.
• Document troubleshooting steps and update knowledge bases.
