Job summary

Sprout is seeking an IT Hardware Technician to evaluate, test, and de-manufacture electronic equipment in a fast-growing sustainability-focused operation. You will ensure data handling compliance and inventory accuracy while adhering to safety standards.

You will work with tools like multimeters and soldering equipment, perform data erasure per NIST/ISO, and support efficient warehouse workflow. We value detail-oriented team players with HS diploma and relevant ITAD experience.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of professional experience in IT Asset Disposition (ITAD), electronics recycling, or a related field.
• Familiarity with testing tools and diagnostic software for electronic equipment is required.
• Experience with IT hardware components and data erasure standards.

Responsibilities

• Sort and evaluate electronic equipment (e.g., CPUs, GPUs, RAM, HDDs, SSDs, mobile devices).
• Maintain accurate records of materials using scan guns and manual entry systems.
• Conduct thorough testing of electronic components and sub-assemblies.
• Perform data erasure following standardized protocols, ensuring 0 data escapes.
• Disassemble (harvest) electronic equipment into components as per industry guidelines.
• Ensure precise inventory tracking and management within the workspace.
• Maintain a clean, hazard-free working environment and ensure adherence to health and safety protocols.
• Coordinate with team members for smooth workflow transitions.
