Job summary

Weaver’s Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) practice in New York City is seeking an IT Associate to join the team. The role focuses on executing audit procedures, supporting SOC 1 and SOC 2 examinations, and documenting workpapers under supervision.

You will build foundational IT control knowledge, learn the system development lifecycle, and grow into more complex engagements while collaborating with client personnel and teammates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Business or related field.
• 0-2+ years of public accounting experience in SOC 1 / SOC 2 examinations, IT audit, IT risk, internal audit, SOX ITGC testing or external audit support.

Responsibilities

• Support SOC 1 and SOC 2 examinations under the guidance of senior team members.
• Test design and operating effectiveness of IT general controls and key business process controls.
• Communicate engagement status and testing results to supervisors daily.
• Prepare workpapers that support testing results and conclusions with proper documentation.
• Identify control exceptions, assess risks, and assist with remediation recommendations.
• Assist with preparing SOC reports and other client deliverables as needed.
