Position Purpose
The information technology (IT) Financial/Budget Analyst, reporting through the IT Business Operations department, serves as a key resource for financial planning for University Technology Services ( UTS ) at Oakland University and coordinates between technical units to help ensure the efficient and strategic planning for financial resources. Main responsibilities include:
● Coordinating directly with the CIO and IT leadership staff to develop the UTS budget
● Tracking and monitoring UTS expenditures and working to ensure purchases align with budgetary constraints and cost-saving initiatives
● Developing plans for the appropriate allocation of resources to IT departments
● Overseeing critical tasks such as cost management, funding proposals, grants management, and financial reporting
● Regularly collaborating with IT procurement, project management, and coordinators to address department needs
● Supporting UTS risk management by assessing and mitigating financial risks
● Conducting financial planning and forecasting for UTS
● Balancing monthly ledgers for UTS
Working with campus departments, including University Technology Services, analyze and evaluate multi-year and long term cost projections related to total project costs for technology solutions.
