Location: Remote (Candidates must be located in EST or CST time zones)

Contract: 6 Months (with possible extension)

Pay Rate: $30/hr (W2 only)

Client Industry: Leading Utility & Electricity Provider

Project Overview:

We are currently partnering with a leading organization in the Utilities & Electricity sector to support their IT Financial Operations team. The selected candidate will play a key role in managing the financial health of technology projects, ensuring compliance with corporate accounting policies, and contributing to improved business outcomes.

This is a highly accounting-focused role within the IT space — ideal for someone with a strong financial background and a passion for technology and data accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and manage IT charge codes and ensure proper allocation of IT expenses
• Submit journal entries and accounting adjustments in alignment with financial governance standards
• Collaborate with IT Finance, Planning, and Property Accounting teams to track capital and operational spend
• Monitor and report on cloud implementation costs in collaboration with accounting
• Prepare monthly budget vs. actual reports and assist in forecasting activities
• Support internal audit and SOX compliance efforts
• Work closely with Agile (SAFe) teams to understand financial needs and templates
• Enable financial transparency and value tracking in collaboration with the Value Realization Office (VRO)

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in IT Financial Management, Accounting, or IT Portfolio/Project Management
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cost allocation principles
• Hands-on experience with journal entries, invoices, and financial reporting
• Excellent Excel and data analysis skills
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have:

• Experience working in the Utilities, Energy, or Financial Services industry
• Familiarity with SOX compliance or internal audit processes
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
• Certifications such as PMP, CPA, or MBA
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship (W2 only)
• No C2C or third-party candidates
• Candidates must provide their own equipment for remote work (laptop with camera/mic)
