Job description

Andrew Morgan Consulting, LLC (AMC) seeks a Junior Financial/Audit Analyst to support our fast-paced Federal Client in Northern Virginia. The Junior Financial/Audit Analyst will assist with audit response activities, interfacing with third-party service providers, external auditors, and the Office of the Inspector General (OIG). The analyst will assist with audit planning, control identification, control testing, leadership reporting and will work with Senior IT and Financial Managers to improve compliance processes and access control procedures as part of Corrective Action Plan (CAP) mitigation activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to advise management and drive control assurance through involvement with high priority IT and business areas, and critical health information technology projects. The Analyst will coordinate tasks for the Financial Team, to include reviewing work products, all adhering to the KPIs that will meet client goals and mission objectives. The Analyst will ensure completion of projects within estimated time frames and budget constraints.

Role, Responsibilities, and Performance Outcomes:

  • Coordinate with Audit Lead to respond to all IT and Financial audit requests.
  • Organize and coordinate meetings, agendas, audit walkthroughs, demonstrations, and planning sessions to achieve outcomes.
  • Complete financial and audit data entries and other recurring tasks.
  • Review process documents to identify control gaps.
  • Track and meet all deadlines for audit requests.
  • Develop and track Corrective Action Plans and associated milestones.
  • Conduct both quantitative and qualitative analyses in support of business workflow processes and recommend planning for corrective courses of action.
  • Present information derived from data and process analyses to various clients with proficiency in oral, visual, and written communications.
  • Develop process guidance and training documents.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
  • Complete all assigned actions and tasks within suspense periods.
  • Fully capable of collecting, compiling, editing, analyzing, and presenting data.
  • Knowledge of financial, project, and program management principles.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, management, finance, accounting, or related field.

Required Experience:

  • 2-5 years of experience in the following areas:
  • Project planning and project management.
  • Process improvement projects.
  • Evaluating controls relative to frameworks (such as GAO Greenbook, NIST, and FISCAM), and making recommendations based on findings.
  • Financial data and accounting practices.
  • Presentations on data-informed recommendations.
  • Presenting findings to executive-level clients.
  • Facilitating client meetings and delivering presentations.
  • Using agile and/or project management methodology to ensure timeliness of deliverables and a collective awareness of budgetary constraints and milestones.
  • MS Office suite proficiency, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Desired Experience:

  • Financial statement audits.
  • Directing the budgetary activities that will govern success and drive progress toward client KPIs and mission objectives.

Clearance:

Ability to obtain Public Trust / Tier One Investigation (DoD CAC), required.

Salary:

Salary is commensurate with both experience and location.

Work Location:

The primary location for work to be performed is REMOTE; however, client and team meetings may require travel to Arlington, VA (Rosslyn) and Alexandria, VA (Old Town).
