Job summary

Sterling Construction Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced IT Field Support Technician II to join our on-site team supporting construction operations across job sites.

This hands-on role requires solving real-world tech problems and driving project continuity outside the corporate office. You will be the primary IT partner for assigned business units, troubleshoot hardware/software/networking, deploy devices with Intune, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT support experience in field or distributed environments.
• Strong knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
• Solid networking fundamentals including VLANs, VPN, switches, TCP/IP.
• Experience with Intune or enterprise endpoint management.
• HCSS experience strongly preferred; CompTIA A+ and Network+ required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site IT resource for assigned business units.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and mobile devices with minimal escalation.
• Support HCSS products such as HeavyBid, HeavyJob, Equipment360 & more.
• Deploy and configure devices using Intune/MDM tools.
• Support local network equipment (switches, wireless, VPNs).
• Partner with Infrastructure, Applications, and Cybersecurity teams.
• Mentor Field Support Technician I staff.
• Lead site IT projects like office moves, refresh cycles, and new jobsite setups.

Sterling Infrastructure is looking for a hands-on IT Field Support Technician II who thrives outside the corporate bubble.

This is not a sit-at-a-desk helpdesk role. You'll be the primary IT partner supporting our construction operations — solving real-world tech problems that keep projects moving.

What You'll Do

1. Serve as the primary on-site IT resource for assigned business units

What You Bring

1. 5+ years of IT support experience (field or distributed environments preferred)
2. Strong knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Group Policy
3. Solid networking fundamentals (VLANs, VPN, switches, TCP/IP)
4. Experience with Intune or enterprise endpoint management
5. HCSS experience strongly preferred
6. CompTIA A+ and Network+ required
7. Construction or field operations experience is a big plus
8. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites
