Job summary
American Airlines in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an experienced engineering leader to drive technical strategy and deliver high‑impact digital products. You will partner with IT and business executives to align roadmaps with business outcomes while guiding a diverse engineering team.
You will mentor engineers, manage staffing and budgets, remove impediments, and promote modern technologies and Agile practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience.
- 5 years delivering solutions with ITIL/Agile/XPs or similar.
- 3 years leading product teams.
Responsibilities
- Guide solutions with a deep technology perspective and strong communication with Engineers.
- Collaborate with IT leadership to execute the technical vision and roadmaps.
- Create an environment where delivery teams are self-governing and accountable.
- Remove roadblocks, cultivate relationships, and coordinate with leadership.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and input on tech decisions and features.
- Foster open lines of communication between engineering squads and IT leadership.
- Monitor engineer check-ins, sprint deliverables, and stakeholder communications.
- Lead adoption of new technologies and upskill the organization.
- Oversee staffing, budget forecasting, and performance reviews.
