Qualifications

• BS/BA engineering degree (or equivalent) and 10+ years of experience in software engineering, systems optimization, or related field.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or equivalent cloud credential; certification must remain valid.
• Experience defining and executing systems engineering processes including requirements analysis and lifecycle assessment.
• Experience developing system architecture views, data flow diagrams, and technical documentation for improvements.
• Experience with on-premise, cloud, or hybrid infrastructure and working knowledge of cloud services (AWS/Azure).
• Knowledge of federal information security frameworks (NIST SP 800-53, FIPS 200).
• Ability to communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute systems engineering processes for assigned NWS portfolios.
• Document and maintain current system architectures, configurations, and data flows.
• Develop target architecture views and evaluate technologies and cloud approaches.
• Perform systems planning, performance analysis, and capacity planning for reliable operations.
• Identify integration gaps and architectural inconsistencies; document risks and mitigations.
• Prepare test plans, integration assessments, and deployment readiness reviews.
