AttainX, Inc. seeks an experienced Cloud & Systems Architect to support NOAA’s National Weather Service.

The role focuses on enterprise architecture, modernization through data flow modeling, security planning, and collaboration with government stakeholders, developers, and programmers to improve on-premises and cloud systems. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in engineering, hands-on experience with Structurizr/C4/PlantUML/Mermaid, AWS/Azure, and TOGAF with ArchiMate; AWS Certified

Qualifikationen

• BS/BA engineering degree (or equivalent) and 10+ years in the field.
• Eight (8) years of direct experience in software engineering, systems optimization, or specialized technical programming.
• Hands-on experience with Structurizr or architecture-as-code tools such as the C4 model, PlantUML or Mermaid.
• Familiarity with Jira, GitHub, and/or Confluence.
• Experience developing enterprise architecture models, including TOGAF alignment using ArchiMate and Visio.
• Experience with C4 model views and tools like Structurizr, Mermaid, PlantUML, Draw.io.
• Architecture-as-code practices integrated with dev workflows, version control, and release processes.
• IaC and cloud tooling to analyze AWS/Azure environments and generate diagrammatic architectures.
• As-Is and To-Be architecture roadmaps over a 6–12 month planning horizon.
• Ability to establish repeatable processes and documentation across teams.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or equivalent cloud credential; must remain valid.
• Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 and FIPS 200.
• Ability to collaborate with developers and explain findings to varied audiences.
• Excellent analytical, written communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet NOAA background investigation and security requirements.

Aufgaben

• Define and execute systems engineering processes for assigned NOAA portfolios.
• Document and maintain current system architectures, configurations, and data flows.
• Develop target architecture views and evaluate emerging technologies and cloud options.
• Perform planning, capacity analysis, and optimization for reliable operations.
• Evaluate architectures, data standards, and identify integration gaps.
• Identify technical and security risks; support risk registry and mitigations.
• Develop design guidelines, system models, and architecture assessments.
• Prepare tests and validation activities; support verification and validation.
• Integrate security requirements into the lifecycle and support assessments.
• Coordinate findings and deliverables with engineering teams and stakeholders.
• Support accessibility and protect controlled information and PII.
• Maintain technical documentation and knowledge transfer across teams.
