Job summary

James Hardie is seeking a motivated intern for a 12-week, full-time summer program in Mission Viejo, CA. You will contribute to documenting SAP and JD Edwards processes, create AI-assisted technical summaries, and collaborate with IT professionals to build a centralized knowledge repository.

Applicants should be enrolled in MIS/IT/CS or related field with a 3.0+ GPA, and be authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program with anticipated graduation between December 2027 and May 2029.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Review SAP and JDE custom objects, metadata, and existing documentation to understand current system functionality and business processes.
• Research historical artifacts, change tickets, Jira items, CAB records, testing documentation, and related materials to gather technical and business context.
• Identify documentation gaps and opportunities to improve the quality, consistency, and accessibility of system documentation.
• Leverage approved AI tools to create technical summaries, process flows, draft specifications, dependency inventories, and other supporting documentation.
• Develop, update, and maintain documentation to support system knowledge management and future enhancements.
• Organize and maintain documentation repositories, ensuring records are accurate, complete, and easy to access.
• Coordinate reviews with subject matter experts (SMEs), capture feedback, and incorporate revisions into final deliverables.
