As a James Hardie intern, you will gain hands‑on experience in your chosen field while contributing to meaningful projects that drive business results. Our 12-week paid internship program is designed to provide real-world industry exposure, strengthen your professional and technical skills, and help prepare you for a successful career. Throughout the program, you will collaborate with experienced professionals, build valuable relationships across the organization, and take on work that makes a measurable impact. You will also have access to mentoring opportunities and professional development resources to support your growth and career aspirations.

Internship Objective

Gain practical experience in application project delivery, testing, release management, integration support, documentation, and operational problem‑solving. The intern will contribute to digital customer platform initiatives by improving test coverage and documentation, supporting backlog and release activities, validating integration mappings, and creating repeatable operational procedures that strengthen delivery quality, reliability, onboarding readiness, and long‑term supportability.

By the end of the internship, the intern will:

• Review and complete field‑mapping validation between applicable enterprise and digital commerce systems, including testing, exception documentation, and remediation actions.
• Develop a reusable integration test pack covering order creation, order status, and invoice‑processing scenarios, with documented results and recommendations.
• Create a customer onboarding and self‑service setup guide and validate it through an end‑to‑end onboarding scenario

What You’ll Do:

Project Delivery and Requirements

• Support application project delivery, release activities, and operational support.
• Participate in assigned integration and Global Applications initiatives.
• Assist in gathering and refining business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with developers during solution design, development, and implementation.

Testing and Release Readiness

• Prepare and execute functional test scenarios and test cases.
• Support system integration testing, user acceptance testing, defect management, and release‑readiness activities.
• Validate integration mappings and document exceptions and remediation actions.

Documentation and Operational Support

• Maintain current documentation for requirements, work items, test evidence, defects, decisions, owners, and next actions.
• Support backlog management, user‑story refinement, customer onboarding, and self‑service documentation.

What You’ll Bring:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in a relevant discipline at an accredited university, with an anticipated graduation between December 2027 and May 2029 (rising senior & rising junior).
• Strong academic performance with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Available to work full‑time for 12 weeks during summer 2027.
• Reliable transportation to and from the work location.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Skills

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical and business‑process issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio or a similar diagramming tool.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced project environment.
• Exposure to Jira, software testing, ERP systems, integrations, e‑commerce platforms, or release management, with a strong willingness to learn.

What You’ll Receive:

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $20 to $25 per hour. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience, skills, geography and may change over time.
