Job summary

TEKsystems in Lansing is seeking an entry to mid-level IT Helpdesk/Desktop Support professional for a Contract to Hire role. You will diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, support Windows 10/11 and Mac workstations, and help users achieve reliable IT service.

This hybrid position offers a pathway to full-time employment with a local enterprise client, where prior Helpdesk or Desktop Support experience and IT certifications are valued and opportunities to grow your IT career within

Qualifications

• Previous Helpdesk or Desktop Support or PC Technician experience is preferred.
• IT certifications are desirable for this role.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating systems (Windows and Mac) and a range of software applications.
• Swap out laptops/desktops and deploy Windows 10/11.
• Re-imaging Windows 11 onto machines from Windows 10.
• Assist all users with logged IT incidents and provide timely resolutions.
• Take ownership of issues, perform problem analysis, and escalate when needed to restore service quickly.
• Record, update and document requests using the IT service desk system.
• Install and configure new IT equipment.
• Resolve incidents and upgrade software and hardware.
• Troubleshoot printers, copiers, and scanners.
• Maintain a first-class level of customer service.

Previous Helpdesk or Desktop Support or PC Technician experience is preferred. IT certifications are desirable for this role. This will be a first shift opportunity on a Contract to Hire basis.

• To diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating systems (Windows and Mac) and across a range of software applications


• Swapping out laptops/desktops and deploying Windows 10/11


• Re-imaging windows 11 onto machines from windows 10


• To assist all our users with any logged IT related incident when called upon


• To take ownership of issues by carrying out problem analysis to implement temporary or permanent fixes with the aim of restoring service to the customer as soon as possible; escalating incidents to other support teams where necessary


• To accurately record, update and document requests using the IT service desk system


• To install and configure new IT equipment


• To resolve incidents and upgrade different types of software and hardware


• To resolve incidents with printers, copiers, and scanners


• To maintain a first-class level of customer service ensuring that all customers are treated efficiently and in an appropriate manner

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lansing, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
