Position Overview
The Onsite Deployment Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, and deployment of computer systems at customer locations. This temporary full-time role supports end-user device rollouts, including hardware setup, data migration, and basic troubleshooting. The technician will ensure systems are properly connected, configured, and operational while delivering a high level of customer service and support throughout the deployment process.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation and configuration of operating systems, applications, and required software.
- Execute PC redeployments, including setup of new systems and decommissioning of legacy equipment.
- Connect and configure power, network, and peripheral devices to ensure full system functionality.
- Migrate end-user data from legacy systems to newly deployed devices.
- Install and configure local and network printer drivers.
- Provide connectivity to customer networks, including validating mapped drives and printer access.
- Deliver hardware break-fix support for desktops, laptops, and printers.
- Provide basic end-user support, including answering questions related to system use, data migration, and general functionality.
- Respond to technical issues via phone, in person, or remote support as required.
- Escalate complex or time-intensive issues to the Team Lead and Project Manager as appropriate.
- Document incidents, resolutions, and deployment activities in accordance with established procedures.

Experience and Education
- Demonstrated experience installing and configuring computer systems.
- Intermediate to advanced troubleshooting skills within Microsoft operating systems.
- Experience performing data migrations between devices.
- Experience installing and configuring network printers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent work experience in computer technology or a related field preferred.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, MCP, or Network+ are preferred.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, crouch, and lift equipment up to 40 pounds.
- Frequent use of hands for lifting, carrying, and equipment setup.
- Adequate vision and motor coordination required for technical tasks.
- Work is typically performed in a clean, temperature-controlled office environment.
- Regular travel to client locations may be required.
Additional Requirements
- Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Reliable transportation (i.e. personal vehicle) and able to travel to multiple client locations, when applicable.
- Work must be performed onsite at client locations to support collaboration, supervision, and equipment access requirements.
- Employees must be willing to perform additional duties as assigned by management to support project and business needs.
