Job summary

NJM invites applications for an IT Data Science Summer Intern. You will work with data scientists and business stakeholders on data preparation, model development, and visualization tasks. Gain hands-on experience with modern data science tools while contributing to real-world NJM projects.

You will help collect and clean data, develop and test predictive models, and build dashboards to communicate insights using Power BI or Databricks. Proficiency in Python and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Current Sophomore or Junior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 (3.5 or above is preferred)
• Demonstrate knowledge of Power BI and Databricks
• Demonstrate knowledge in the analytical programming knowledge of Python
• Commuting to our West Trenton, New Jersey office

Responsibilities

• Assist in collecting, cleaning, and preparing structured and unstructured data for analysis.
• Support the development and testing of predictive models and machine learning algorithms.
• Create dashboards and visualizations to communicate insights using Power BI or Databricks dashboards.
• Write Python scripts for data manipulation, analysis, and automation using Databricks.
• Collaborate with team members to validate model performance and document findings.
• Research emerging data science technologies and evaluate their applicability within NJM's ecosystem.

The intern will gain hands‑on experience with modern data science tools and techniques while contributing to real‑world projects.
