Job summary

NJM Insurance Group invites students to join its 2027 Paid Summer Intern Program in New Jersey. The role of Business Planning and Analysis Summer Intern involves supporting forecasting, budgeting, and reporting activities while gaining exposure to leadership and cross-department collaboration.

The program includes seminars, networking with leaders, professional headshots, community volunteer activities, and a team project to research and present a business question to NJM leaders.

Qualifications

• Interest in Property and Casualty Insurance Industry.
• Current Sophomore or Junior pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, mathematics or other related degree.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities.
• High level of intellectual curiosity.
• Effective communicator (verbal and written).
• Strong attention to detail.
• Desire to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Cumulative GPA of a 3.0 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monthly forecasting of financial statements.
• Generate monthly and quarterly reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets for business leaders.
• Create ad hoc reports to support business operations.
• Maintain open lines of communication.
• Support the business units.
• Prepare analysis of industry data and trends.

Overview

The Business Planning and Analysis Summer Intern will help support the company’s forecasting and budgeting process. This candidate will demonstrate skills in financial planning, analysis, and reporting while participating in a range of analytical and data analysis activities which will help lead to increased efficiencies and revenue opportunities, as well as lower operational expense levels.
