Overview

The American Coatings Association (ACA) has an opportunity available for an Information Technology Coordinator with excellent communication skills and proven experience in the information technology field. The position will provide advanced remote help desk, desk side technical and application support to all ACA staff members. The Information Technology Coordinator will provide advanced application support, training for staff on new and existing applications, and assist to help improve staff skills by performing the following duties: provide support for all desktop applications; minimal server applications support; support of the LAN. This work is performed with minimal supervision, requiring strong hands-on desktop and applications troubleshooting skills and sound judgment. This person must exhibit excellent task and time management skills, oral and written communication skills, technical expertise, and dedication to problem resolution in a timely manner.

Job Responsibilities
  • Primarily responsible for problem diagnosis and resolution
  • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, and configuring systems and applications
  • Answer inbound staff requests
  • Work with senior staff to determine and resolve high level problems
  • Management of infrastructure hardware/software and related technologies
  • Identify & troubleshoot PC / Mac configuration and/or performance irregularities
  • Research solutions to various issues
  • Develop solutions and procedures to respond to these irregularities in a timely manner
  • Ensure infrastructure is properly monitored
  • Oversee the execution and completion of assigned tasks
  • Document and improve existing processes
Requirements
  • 5+ years relative experience without a degree or 3+ years relative experience with a BS/BA degree from an accredited college or university
  • Experience covering: Information Technology, Desktop, Technical and Application Support in a PC and Mac environment
  • Working knowledge of basic networking, network printing, PC / Mac installation and configuration, network and applications, mobile computing, VPN and MDM
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptionally self-motivated and directed with ability to set and manage priorities judiciously
  • Proficient with managing and prioritizing multiple projects
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills of familiar and unfamiliar technologies alike
  • Troubleshoot unfamiliar products through vendor or online documentation
  • Innovative and able to think out of the box
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including interpersonal/customer service skills
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure with short deadlines
  • Reports to a supervisor
Required Technical Skills
Required Certification, License or Registrations
  • Microsoft MCP (a 4-year degree in an Information Technology Field can substitute)
Location and Travel

This position is located at ACA headquarters in Washington, D.C. and will operate within a hybrid work environment (working both onsite and remotely). Occasional (though infrequent) travel throughout the U.S. will be required to meet with program staff and attend meetings.

Employment, Salary and Benefits

This is a full time, regular position. Salary depends on experience, but on estimate can range from $56,000 to $70,000. ACA provides generous benefits [401(k), vacation days, medical, dental, and life insurance] and reimbursement for travel expenses.
