Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is seeking an experienced procurement professional to own IT contract management, renewal pipelines and vendor negotiations. This role focuses on software licensing, SaaS agreements and cost optimization across the IT portfolio.

You will lead end-to-end renewals, analyze spend, benchmark terms, and partner with IT directors to drive savings while maintaining compliant contracting practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in procurement, including demonstrated experience in the IT software sourcing category.
  • Experience with software licensing and SaaS contract models.
  • Understanding of contract terms and ability to identify problematic clauses.
  • Analytical skills for cost comparison and trend analysis.
  • Experience independently negotiating software, SaaS, and services contracts, including price and commercial terms.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage routine renewals and contract reviews independently, owning the decision end to end.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices and cost optimization techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Constitute contract reviews and analysis for renewals, identifying cost drivers, price escalations, and optimization opportunities
  • Analyze software licensing agreements including usage rights, termination clauses, and vendor lock in provisions
  • Track contract terms and renewal dates to ensure proactive management rather than reactive processing
  • Identify consolidation opportunities across vendor relationships and contracts
  • Manage the IT contract renewal pipeline end to end, including notifying business owners of upcoming renewals, maintaining data accuracy, and triggering the review process
  • Maintain proactive visibility across the full IT contract portfolio so renewals are managed ahead of expiration rather than processed reactively
  • Lead vendor negotiations and renewals, applying market pricing, competitive alternatives, and benchmarking data to drive savings and improved commercial terms
  • Manage vendor communications during contract negotiations and renewals
  • Own routine contract renewals and reviews end to end, exercising independent judgment on commercial terms and escalating only when risk, scope change, or contract value exceeds a defined threshold
  • Perform spend analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and savings opportunities
  • Research alternative solutions and competitive pricing for existing contracts
  • Support license optimization by analyzing usage data versus contracted amounts
  • Assist with RFP development and vendor evaluation processes
  • Maintain procurement databases and contract repositories
  • Generate reports on procurement metrics, savings, and vendor performance
  • Support compliance with organizational procurement policies and procedures

Owns contract analysis, vendor relationship management, and commercial negotiation for software licensing, SaaS, and IT services across the IT renewal pipeline. Independently manages routine renewals and contract reviews end to end, leads negotiations to drive savings and improved terms, and partners directly with IT directors and business owners to advance category strategy and cost optimization.

Responsibilities
Contract Management & Analysis

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in procurement, including demonstrated experience in the IT software sourcing category. Additional experience may substitute for educational requirement.
  • Experience with software licensing and SaaS contract models.
  • Understanding of contract terms and ability to identify problematic clauses.
  • Analytical skills for cost comparison and trend analysis.
  • Experience independently negotiating software, SaaS, and services contracts, including price and commercial terms. Demonstrated experience reading complex software, SaaS, and services contracts, identifying commercial and risk issues, and recommending negotiation strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage routine renewals and contract reviews independently, owning the decision end to end.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices and cost optimization techniques.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Procurement experience specifically in the IT software sourcing category.
  • Comfortable leading without authority and building engagement in a process environment that is still maturing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to tailor stakeholder communication across technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Experience partnering directly with IT directors and business owners to influence procurement decisions.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and their application to procurement and software contracts; AI related certifications a plus.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $97,822 to $146,682, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
