  • Must have ITIL certification within 6 months of hire and TOC certification on hire.

Minimum Requirements

The IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) serves as a strategic liaison between Information Technology and City departments, building strong partnerships to understand business needs, priorities, and challenges. This position works closely with department leadership and IT teams to identify technology opportunities, translate business needs into actionable initiatives, and ensure technology investments align with organizational priorities. The BRM facilitates technology planning, assists departments with developing technology roadmaps and business cases, coordinates and prioritizes technology requests, and guides initiatives through established IT governance processes. The position also helps departments understand available technology capabilities, identifies opportunities for process improvement and innovation, and promotes effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, customer-focused professional with strong relationship-building, communication, analytical, and strategic planning skills who can successfully navigate competing priorities in a complex organization.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. Education Equivalency: Education may be substituted with an additional five (5) years of relevant experience.

Experience

A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in an IT Service Management or Business Relationship Management environment with a minimum of two (2) years of direct supervisory or management experience. Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives and aligning IT services with business strategy. Requires strong knowledge of IT Service Management, Business Relationship Management, Portfolio Management, Project Management, Process Analysis and Improvement, and IT Strategy. Demonstrated skills in Business Relationship Management and stakeholder engagement.

Licenses and Certifications

Terminal Operator Certification (TOC) Certification upon hire. Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification within 6 months of hire. Demonstrated skills in Business Relationship Management and stakeholder engagement.

Preferred/Desirable Qualifications

Experience in a municipal or government setting. Experience with organizational change management and service governance frameworks.
