  • Create and enforce cost allocation models, tagging standards, and chargeback/showback frameworks.
  • Set governance standards for resource usage, pricing model adoption (e.g., Reserved Instances, Savings Plans), and optimize Snowflake usage.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of cloud costs to uncover efficiency improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Implement strategies for rightsizing, scheduling, and reserved capacity to balance performance with cost efficiency.
  • Influence architectural decisions through financial impact analysis and cost modeling in partnership with engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Business Unit leaders on budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning for cloud expenses.
  • Build and maintain models to illustrate historical trends, growth patterns, and unit-cost metrics associated with cloud spending.
  • Present cost insights and optimization results to senior leadership through dashboards and executive reports.
  • Utilize cloud cost management and FinOps tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Snowflake Usage Views) for ongoing monitoring and reporting.
  • Promote awareness of FinOps principles and foster a culture of accountability and informed decision-making across Finance, Engineering, Architecture, and Product teams.
Required Skills
