Job summary

Leon Recruitment is partnering with a large enterprise to hire an IT Business Analyst II for an onsite role in Miami. The analyst will translate business needs into practical technology solutions, collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, QA, operations, and external partners through the full SDLC, and use SQL to investigate data and troubleshoot system behavior.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in technical business analysis, strong communication, and documentation

Qualifications

Three or more years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst or similar role.
Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and technical requirements.
Translating stakeholder needs into functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and documentation.
Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
Experience working with software-development and QA teams.
Working knowledge of SQL for data investigation, validation, testing, or troubleshooting.
Experience developing test cases and supporting UAT, defect management, and system validation.
Ability to conduct gap analysis, impact analysis, and root-cause investigation.
Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Miro, Visio, or similar tools.
Strong written communication, attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical audiences.
Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/MIS/Business or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

Lead requirements-gathering sessions with business stakeholders to understand problems, objectives, workflows, rules and outcomes.
Translate business needs into clear requirements, functional specs, user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, and process flows.
Serve as liaison between business stakeholders, developers, QA, vendors, and other technical teams.
Participate through the full SDLC from discovery to production support.
Analyze current-state systems to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities.
Use SQL to investigate data, validate behavior, support testing, and troubleshoot.
Investigate production issues and perform root-cause analysis on apps, data, interfaces, or workflows.
Create and execute test cases, scripts, and scenarios.
Support functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
Track defects and verify fixes meet requirements.
Support process automation and RPA initiatives through analysis and testing.
Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, demonstrations, release prep, and Agile ceremonies.
Create process maps, workflow diagrams, user guides, training materials, and system docs.
Train and support business users after implementation.
