Job summary

STI in Richmond, Virginia is seeking a seasoned Business Analyst with 5+ years of IT project experience to join our software systems team. You will work with internal staff to optimize processes and improve quality across design, development, and maintenance of IT applications.

You will learn operational systems, consult with business and technical teams to develop requirements, translate them into technical specifications, create diagrams, and propose cost‑benefit improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of BA experience in IT projects.
• Experience in eliciting requirements, storyboard development, wireframes, test planning and test execution.
• Experience translating requirements into technical specs and preparing diagrams for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Work with internal staff to optimize processes and improve quality for IT software systems.
• Learn and understand operational systems; consult with business and technical teams to develop requirements for improvements to systems.

• Drives consistent project delivery through the entire project lifecycle. Tracks and exports project metrics and ensures that the team are practicing Agile principles.

• 5+ years of BA Experience in IT project. IT software/application project experience required.
• Work with internal staff to optimize processes and improve quality for the design, development and maintenance of VDOT Software Systems.
• Learn and understand the operational systems. Consult with business teams and technical teams to develop requirements for improvements to systems.
• Translate requirements into technical specifications to be used by technical teams to develop system modifications.
• Prepare diagrams explaining the modifications so that both technical staff and executive management can visualize and understand what must be done.
• Propose alternative solutions that balance cost and benefit. Assure business and technical compatibility and performance.
• Drives consistent project delivery through the entire project lifecycle. Tracks and exports project metrics and ensures that the team are practicing Agile principles.
• Must have technical experience in Test Plan/Storyboard/Requirements.
• Must have experience in requirements elicitation, storyboard development, wireframe preparation, test planning, and test execution.
