IT Business Analyst - Application Support
We are seeking an entry-level IT Business Analyst to support business applications, data, and technology initiatives across the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional with a degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Computer Science, or a related field.
The ideal candidate has a strong interest in technology and business processes, with exposure to application support, databases, requirements gathering, testing, and troubleshooting through internships, academic projects, or previous work experience.
This role will work closely with business users, IT teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs, troubleshoot application issues, support system enhancements, and help ensure data accuracy and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day functional and application support for enterprise business systems, helping users troubleshoot issues and identify appropriate solutions.
- Gather and document business requirements by working with users and stakeholders to understand processes, pain points, and system needs.
- Assist with configuration, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise applications, including Oracle and other business systems.
- Support data management activities by reviewing, validating, and maintaining accurate information across applications and databases.
- Use SQL and database tools to perform basic data queries, validation, troubleshooting, and analysis.
- Assist with testing system changes, enhancements, integrations, and upgrades by developing test cases, documenting results, and supporting user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Create and maintain documentation including business requirements, process flows, test plans, user procedures, and application support materials.
- Monitor and troubleshoot application issues, escalating more complex technical problems to senior IT team members or development teams when appropriate.
- Work with cross-functional teams to support system integrations and ensure data flows accurately between applications.
- Assist with enterprise data and supply chain applications, including Oracle-based systems, inventory, product data, and related business processes.
- Participate in technology projects, system implementations, upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.
- Help identify opportunities to improve application usability, business processes, data quality, and operational efficiency.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of professional experience; internship, co-op, academic project, or relevant part-time experience is strongly encouraged.
- Exposure to application support, business systems, databases, or enterprise technology through internships, coursework, or previous experience.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Ability to troubleshoot application and data issues using a logical, analytical approach.
- Understanding of software development and business application concepts without requiring professional software development experience.
- Experience documenting requirements, processes, workflows, or technical/business procedures.
- Exposure to testing, including test cases, system testing, or User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
- Ability to learn new enterprise applications and technologies quickly.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Internship or project experience supporting business applications, ERP systems, CRM systems, databases, or IT operations.
- Exposure to Oracle, SAP, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or other enterprise applications.
- Experience writing basic SQL queries or working with relational databases.
- Familiarity with data management, data quality, or Master Data Management (MDM) concepts.
- Exposure to business process mapping, requirements gathering, or workflow documentation.
- Familiarity with Excel, Power BI, or other data analysis tools.
- Understanding of supply chain, inventory, procurement, or enterprise business processes is a plus.
