Job summary

San José State University is seeking an IT Business Operations Manager to support employee engagement, workforce development, and IT business operations. The role oversees IT budget planning, forecasting, and cost management, while coordinating with IT leadership on the CSU ATI initiative and procurement processes.

The incumbent will manage recruiting, onboarding, and staff development processes, coach personnel, and foster a collaborative, service-oriented environment within IT’s leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field; Equivalent relevant work experience or a combination of education and experience may be substituted for the required education.
• A minimum of two years’ experience in business operations, financial management, budgeting, forecasting, or resource planning.

Responsibilities

• Manage IT budget development and forecasting, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
• Develop and report budget/financial data with high accuracy across models and spreadsheets.
• Own PAF process and communicate status to leadership on a periodic basis.
• Identify inefficiencies in current operations and prioritize opportunities with IT leadership.
• Reallocate funds within the quarter to respond to demand while maintaining budget targets.
• Monitor project and division expenditures and take corrective action as needed.
• Ensure IT budget data and variances are captured in the Financial Data Warehouse.
