Job summary

San José State University seeks an IT Business Operations Manager to lead budgeting, forecasting and IT operations. The role supports the Senior Director, Strategy and Innovation, and collaborates with IT leaders to manage budget planning, cost control, and reporting across the department.

The incumbent oversees recruitment, onboarding and staff development, while driving process improvements and effective resource planning in a service‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
• Two years’ experience in business operations, financial management, budgeting, forecasting, or resource planning.
• Ability to develop, monitor and report budgets, forecasts and financial models.

Responsibilities

• Manage IT budget development, forecasting and reporting processes.
• Oversee PAF, contracts review, and purchasing workflow in collaboration with procurement.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding and development processes for IT staff.
• Coordinate with HR to manage payroll, access approvals and personnel processes.
• Develop and maintain budget models and variance analyses for senior leadership.
