AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. in Jersey City, NJ is offering an IT Audit Internship. You will work with the IT Audit Team to learn the internal audit process, controls, and risk assessment while building a practical foundation for an insurance career.

Your internship involves 4 days in the office and 1 day remote, with supervision and a professional mentor to guide your progress. You will gain hands-on experience across business lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree candidate, preferably MIS/CS/Accounting/IA.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Clear and concise written communication.
• Minimal grammatical / spelling errors in written communication.
• Professional demeanor with clients and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with process walkthroughs to identify the key activities, risks, and controls.
• Applying simple risk and control concepts to assess control design and develop a test approach.
• Testing the effectiveness of the key controls identified.
• Developing audit / accounting / technical knowledge.
• Discussing and reporting control design deficiencies and controls not operating as designed.
• Validating with management the resolution and implementation of corrective action plans.
• Performing direct assistance (i.e., substantive testing) work on behalf of our external auditors.
• Performing special projects as deemed necessary by management.
• Maintaining ethical standards and ensuring internal audit activities comply with Standards.
