Job summary

Krell Institute in Ames, IA is seeking an IT Applications Specialist to support and enhance technology solutions that power our mission-driven organization. This onsite role combines application support, web development, systems administration, and process improvement in a collaborative environment.

You will work with users to improve applications, develop workflows and reports, maintain public-facing and internal websites, troubleshoot issues, and participate in testing and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, IS, or related field.
• At least one year of experience supporting business applications, websites, or information systems.
• Experience with web technologies such as PHP, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and/or SQL.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

As an IT Applications Specialist, you will:

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
• At least one year of experience supporting business applications, websites, or information systems. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Experience with web technologies such as: PHP, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and/or SQL.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with content management systems such as WordPress or Drupal.
• Experience with SharePoint administration or development.
• Familiarity with Linux systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.
• Experience using Git or similar version control tools.
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices.
• Experience creating user guides, training materials, and technical documentation.
