Under the direction of the IT Manager or the Director, this role manages the IT Application portfolio's production and non-production environments, software systems, and third-party IT products. The Application Administrator contributes to planning, design, development, release management, troubleshooting, and support of these environments and systems. Responsibilities include providing support, input to design, maintenance, access, and security administration, as well as troubleshooting application and data issues. Communication of solutions, issues, and risks to technical management or other responsible entities is expected, with high interaction with users, technical teams, and stakeholders.
The role supports the performance and reliability of IT application systems, assists in troubleshooting hardware, software, and system problems involving application servers, web servers, process schedulers, and third-party modules. Under supervision, coordinates and installs updates, collaborates on enhancements, monitors performance metrics, and participates in implementation and testing. Configuration, change management, testing activities, and user consultation on technology changes are also part of the duties.
This position is part of an IT team responsible for production support (including on-call duties in a 24x7 environment) and new projects. The candidate should have experience supporting application projects, assisting management and users with new functionalities and changes, and mentoring less experienced staff.
