IT Application Administrator | Full Time

Under the direction of the IT Manager or the Director, this role manages the IT Application portfolio's production and non-production environments, software systems, and third-party IT products. The Application Administrator contributes to planning, design, development, release management, troubleshooting, and support of these environments and systems. Responsibilities include providing support, input to design, maintenance, access, and security administration, as well as troubleshooting application and data issues. Communication of solutions, issues, and risks to technical management or other responsible entities is expected, with high interaction with users, technical teams, and stakeholders.

The role supports the performance and reliability of IT application systems, assists in troubleshooting hardware, software, and system problems involving application servers, web servers, process schedulers, and third-party modules. Under supervision, coordinates and installs updates, collaborates on enhancements, monitors performance metrics, and participates in implementation and testing. Configuration, change management, testing activities, and user consultation on technology changes are also part of the duties.

This position is part of an IT team responsible for production support (including on-call duties in a 24x7 environment) and new projects. The candidate should have experience supporting application projects, assisting management and users with new functionalities and changes, and mentoring less experienced staff.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support end users and interface with Service Desk, providing guidance and knowledge base articles.
  • Administer IT application systems, environments, upgrades, and security.
  • Assist in the implementation, configuration, and support of new services and applications.
  • Support operational checklists, documentation, and process improvements.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting, capacity, and performance issues with Infrastructure Teams.
  • Assist in installation of systems and patches.
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and testing.
  • Adhere to Change Management processes and represent application changes at meetings.
  • Deploy and administer application and third-party tools.
  • Support application environments and software, including upgrades, on a 24x7 on-call basis, including outside business hours.
  • Monitor and coordinate software upgrades to enhance performance.
  • Use corporate tools for change and problem tracking.
  • Ensure proper documentation and timely delivery of technical artifacts.
  • Stay updated on new tools, technologies, and functionalities.
  • Promote teamwork and mentor junior staff.
  • Engage in personal training and understand organizational strategies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • 3-5 years of application administration or development experience.
  • 1+ years of Sitecore site-level administration or web development.
  • Experience with applications on Windows and SQL platforms.
  • Ability to work off-hours in a 24x7 support environment.
  • Experience supporting third-party applications.
  • Healthcare experience and familiarity with ServiceNow, Sitecore, Office 365, and communication applications are preferred.
