Job summary

Williamson County is seeking an Analyst (Level I of III) to analyze, define, and create technological solutions for hardware and software to solve business problems. This is an internal opportunity exclusive to current employees.

Reporting to a manager or director, you will perform data analysis, provide technical consulting, assist with workflow improvements, and help maintain stable county-wide systems.

Qualifications

  • Vocational/technical diploma or certificate with 2 years of related experience; or 3 years of related experience.
  • Working knowledge of specific job-related technology.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and defines business processes for system enhancements.
  • Develops and maintains system configuration and setup.
  • Supports with procuring and implementing major systems or upgrades.
  • Performs routine to moderately complex analysis of computer systems and servers for stability.
  • Attends meetings and trainings as required.
  • Performs special duties as assigned.
  • Generates and analyzes data sets.
  • Develops analytical methods for data-driven decision making.
  • Ensures data integrity and reconciles inconsistencies.
  • Designs and enhances data services including reporting, web design, and data visualizations.
  • Uses APIs to integrate county applications.

Job description

This is an internal job opportunity exclusive to current employees of Wiliamson County

Reporting directly to an assigned manager or director, responsible for analyzing, defining, and creating technological solutions for specific hardware and/or software to solve business problems and meet user and organizational needs. Level I of III in Analysts.

  • Performs technical analysis of applicable data to produce products and solutions to resolve technology-related business problems
  • Provides technical consulting and support services as needed
  • Assists with developing alternative workflow solutions by analyzing and testing new or existing procedures
  • Performs routine to moderately complex computer systems and server environment analysis work to ensure stable systems for all users throughout the County
  • Analyzes and defines business processes associated with system enhancements
  • Participates in designing and maintaining system configuration and setup
  • Works as part of a team to procure and implement major systems or upgrades to existing applications and systems
  • Attends all meetings and trainings, as required
  • Performs special duties as assigned
Specialized Assignment (in addition to the duties above):
Development Services
  • Generates and analyzes data sets
  • Develops analytical methods to enable data-driven decision making
  • Reconciles data inconsistencies and ensure data integrity
  • Designs and enhances current data services including reporting, web design, and data visualizations
  • Utilizes seeded application APIs and as required create and maintain custom APIs to provide integration between county applications

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Position involves prolonged sitting at a workstation, visual examination of documents, reaching, walking, twisting, bending, standing and occasional lifting/carrying
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
  • Work is primarily indoors in an air-conditioned environment
  • Regular travel between work sites as required
IRREGULAR HOURS
  • Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday – Friday) may be required
  • May be deemed essential personnel in the event of an emergency
  • Regular attendance is required

  • Working knowledge in all areas of technology software, hardware, data, methodologies, frameworks, and infrastructure
