Job summary

The International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) Data Analyst at the University of Minnesota provides strategic oversight for data management and record integrity to support compliance with federal regulations for international students and scholars.

This role oversees Sunapsis maintenance, data reporting, and staff training while collaborating with university governance to drive data-driven decisions and institutional reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree plus at least 2 years of professional experience in data analysis and integration or Master’s degree.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated to seek proactive solutions for operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative oversight for the Sunapsis database, troubleshooting, correcting errors, and maintaining data integrity.
• Support SEVP compliance by monitoring alerts, processing e-forms, and reporting in SEVIS.
• Prepare complex statistical reports and dashboards for university stakeholders and national organizations.
• Identify data-driven process improvements and work with ISSS staff for training and governance.
• Develop data retention policies and foster partnerships to integrate immigration data with broader university data.
