Job summary

Draper, an independent nonprofit R&D organization in Cambridge, MA, seeks an Information System Security Officer 1 (ISSO). You will support continuous monitoring and authorization of classified systems under the ISSM, performing Cyber Security tasks with supervision.

Required 1–3 years of relevant experience, RMF/DIACAP familiarity, and the ability to obtain IAM I/IAT II within 6 months. U.S. security clearance and a bachelor’s degree are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• Equivalent industry experience may be substituted.
• Ability to acquire an IAM I/IAT II Certification within 6 months of start date.
• 1-3 years of relevant industry experience is required.
• Preferred RMF/DIACAP, IR, Vulnerability Management, SCAP, STIG, and security tools experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the ISSM in meeting duties; assume ISSM responsibilities in ISSM's absence.
• Ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of per security policies and procedures.
• Attend required security training for assigned duties.
• Verify users have proper clearances and need-to-know before access.
• Conduct periodic reviews to ensure compliance with security packages.
• Coordinate changes to hardware/software with ISSM and AO/DAO.
• Notify ISSM/AO/DAO of changes affecting authorization.
• Monitor recovery processes to ensure security features function correctly.
• Keep security documentation current and accessible to authorized personnel.
• Conduct Audits and ConMon activities with supervision; report findings and incidents.
• Manage configuration baselines and identify architecture flaws with industry tools.
