Job summary

Draper in Cambridge, MA is seeking an Information System Security Officer 2 (ISSO-2) to support continuous monitoring and authorization for classified information systems. You will work under the ISSM and ISO, maintain SSPs, manage changes, and ensure security controls are properly implemented.

Applicants must have 3–5 years of relevant experience, a bachelor’s degree in IT or related field, and an IAM I/IAT II certification. Active TS//SCI with Polygraph is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field is required.
• IAM I/IAT II Certification or higher is required.
• 3–5 years of relevant industry experience is required.
• Preferred experience auditing systems using native language (PowerShell/Bash) and creating POA&Ms with ISSMs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the ISSM in meeting duties; act as ISSM in their absence.
• Ensure systems are operated and disposed of per security policies.
• Attend required technical and security training.
• Verify users have proper clearances and need-to-know.
• Conduct periodic reviews for compliance with security packages.
• Coordinate changes to hardware/software/firmware with ISSM/AO/DAO.
• Notify ISSM/AO/DAO when changes affect authorization.
• Monitor recovery processes to ensure security features function.
• Maintain current security documentation accessible to authorized personnel.
• Conduct Audits and Continuous Monitoring and respond to incidents.
• Manage configuration baselines of hardware and software.
• Identify architecture flaws using standards/tools (STIG/SCAP/Nessus).
• Mentor ISSO 1; perform other duties as assigned.
