Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in Herndon, VA seeks an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to drive RMF/A&A and maintain the System Security Plan for a high-priority U.S. Government program.

You will coordinate security control assessments, manage POA&Ms, and sustain continuous monitoring with the ISSM and government counterparts. The role requires 3+ years of RMF/A&A or ISSO experience, active TS/SCI with polygraph, and strong knowledge of NIST 800-53, SSP development, and ServiceNow RMF

Qualifications

• 3+ years of RMF/A&A or ISSO experience.
• Knowledge of NIST 800-53, RMF, and SSP development.
• Knowledge of ServiceNow to apply the RMF.
• Experience producing authorization artifacts and evidence.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the SSP and all supporting authorization documentation.
• Prepare and maintain security control implementation evidence and the body of evidence required for system authorization.
• Coordinate and support security control assessments.
• Manage POA&Ms from identification through closure, ensuring timely remediation of findings.
• Execute continuous monitoring activities per RMF and policies.
• Collaborate with platform build and engineering teams to ensure security controls are implemented and documented.
• Work with ISSM and government counterparts throughout the RMF lifecycle.
• Identify security gaps and remediation strategies, tracking resolution to completion.
• Support audit readiness and respond to government inquiries.
• Contribute to security processes, templates, and automation to improve A&A efficiency.
