Job summary

GDIT is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to safeguard government systems. You will apply hands-on ISSO/ISSM experience to security governance, RMF control assessments, and compliance oversight across multiple programs.

Responsibilities include reviewing SSPs and POA&Ms, evaluating controls, and delivering risk-focused briefings to stakeholders. This onsite Falls Church, VA role requires Secret clearance and US citizenship.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of ISSO/ISSM experience or equivalent.
• Active Secret clearance required.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Onsite in Falls Church, VA; occasional travel to other local offices may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security audits and RMF control assessments.
• Review and enhance security artifacts (SSPs, POA&Ms, continuous monitoring).
• Evaluate system security controls for effectiveness and alignment with NIST SP 800-53 and DoD requirements.
• Coordinate with ISSOs/ISSMs and technical teams to remediate findings and close vulnerabilities.
• Support ATO maintenance by tracking assessments, evidence, and documentation.
• Prepare and deliver risk-focused briefings to system owners.
