Job summary

Saliense is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to strengthen the security of UAS platforms, ground control stations, and communications. You will work with developers, engineers, program managers, and system owners to assess risk and implement RMF/NIST-based controls.

The role combines hands-on technical assessment with compliance activities, risk management, and remediation support across the drone ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of federal information systems security experience.
• BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience protecting confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information and assessing UAS architectures and data flows.
• Familiarity with RMF, NIST CSF, DoD and security control assessments, POA&M, and configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cybersecurity assessments of UAS platforms, ground control stations, links, and infrastructure to identify risk.
• Perform vulnerability and risk assessments across hardware, firmware, OS, apps, APIs, and networks.
• Evaluate confidentiality, integrity, and availability of C2 communications, data, imagery, telemetry at rest and in transit.
• Review system architectures, data flows, trust boundaries, interfaces, dependencies for weaknesses and controls.
• Assess identity management, MFA, credentials, and authorization for operators and admins.
• Test and document security controls using RMF, NIST SP 800-series, and DoD requirements.
• Assess supply-chain risks for components, firmware, software, and cloud services.
• Support system security activities including impact analyses, categorization, contingency planning, and config management.
• Develop assessment reports, POA&M findings, remediation recommendations; track vulnerabilities to closure.
• Recommend security products, configurations, and upgrades to improve security posture.
