Job summary

Cambridge International Systems, Inc. is hiring an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to support NIWC Atlantic in North Charleston, SC. The role requires a Top Secret clearance and hands-on RMF work across system lifecycle to deliver secure, compliant IT solutions for U.S.

government missions. You will collaborate with engineers, government stakeholders, and ISSM/ISSO personnel to implement robust security controls, perform assessments, and prepare accreditation artifacts.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in a related field (Cybersecurity, CS, EE, etc.).
• Minimum 3 years of experience developing, implementing, and maintaining cybersecurity policies including A&A activities.
• Experience engineering RMF controls and producing RMF artifacts.
• Must hold a current and active Top Secret clearance.
• DoD 8570/8140 Level I IAM/IAT/IASAE certification.

Responsibilities

• Integrate cybersecurity into system architectures and lifecycle documentation.
• Engineer and validate controls under NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53, CNSSI 1253, and DoD guidance.
• Conduct architecture reviews, vulnerability assessments, and risk analyses.
• Prepare SSPs, control statements, diagrams, and engineering analyses.
• Support RMF activities including SAPs, SARs, POA&Ms, continuous monitoring, and authorization artifacts.
