Job summary

IPT Associates (IPTA) is seeking an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to support the Wright-Patterson AFB. The role focuses on applying system security engineering across DoD and AFRL programs to ensure secure architectures and compliant authorization boundaries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field.
• Five+ years of information system security engineering experience.
• Experience with RMF, DoD 8510.01, NIST 800-53, and CNSSI 1253.
• Experience developing RMF artifacts and authorization documents.
• DoD secret clearance eligibility; Top Secret potential.

Responsibilities

• Assess information systems, architectures, and proposed changes for vulnerabilities and risks; advise the AO on improvements.
• Apply system security engineering principles and DoD/NIST standards throughout the lifecycle.
• Support RMF phases, including categorization, control selection, assessment, authorization, and monitoring.
• Develop and maintain authorization artifacts: SSPs, SARs, POAs&M, diagrams, and evidence.
• Conduct security control assessments using scans, logs reviews, testing, and pen-testing when required.
• Implement and validate STIGs; analyze vulnerabilities, remediation needs, and verification actions.
• Develop and track POA&Ms through to closure and maintain authorization evidence.
• Support eMASS and Xacta workflows and related security platforms.
