Job summary

ASRC Federal Communications is seeking an Electronics Technician III/COMMs for the ISS2 contract supporting the Air Force. The role is located on Wake Island with on-site dormitory housing and meals provided.

You will perform maintenance on VHF/UHF radio, NAVAIDS, AWOS, fiber optics, telephone switches, and VSAT systems, ensuring secure, reliable communications. The position requires an Associates degree or better in electronics communications, 2–5 years of related experience, and the ability to

Qualifications

• Associates degree or better in electronics communications or equivalent job experience.
• Two years hands-on experience maintaining NAVAIDS, VORTAC, and SSILS or FAA equivalents.
• Two to five years of fiber optic experience and ETA certification or ability to obtain within one year.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook at an intermediate level.
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SECRET security clearance.
• FCC PG license or ability to obtain within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on ground navigation and AWOS systems.
• Maintain inside and outside plant copper and fiber optic infrastructure.
• Maintain satellite and broadcast systems and related equipment.
• Service VHF/UHF air-to-ground radio and antenna systems.
• Maintain Land Mobile Radio assets including repeaters and base stations.
• Maintain VSAT satellite systems and related equipment.
• Document maintenance activities and report to management.
• Assist with mission support with IT/Network Technician counterpart.
