Zusammenfassung

General Matter, Inc. is seeking an Integrated Safety Analysis (ISA) Engineer to build the NRC-licensed facility safety basis from ground up. You will develop hazard analyses, accident sequences, IROFS, and safety cases that influence design before licensing.

You will collaborate with process, controls, and operations engineers, take a hands-on, fast-paced approach, and play a key role in NRC interactions, audits, and license applications.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Nuclear Engineering; MS/MBA/PhD may substitute for 2–3 years experience.
• 4+ years of experience in nuclear safety or high-hazard environments.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to clearly explain safety conclusions.
• Ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and licensing teams.

Aufgaben

• Own and develop ISA per 10 CFR Part 70 Subpart H/NUREG-1520, including hazard ID and consequence analysis.
• Lead process hazard analyses (HAZOP, What-If, FMEA) with design and operations teams.
• Define and maintain IROFS and safety measures; favor inherently safer options.
• Develop ISA Summary and change packages for license application.
• Assess risks across nuclear safety, chemical hazards, fire protection, external hazards.
• Support NRC interactions (audits, inspections, RAI responses).
• Participate in design verification and change control for safety.
• Support startup, commissioning, operational readiness.
