HPC-Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, seeks a Machinist Helper in La Porte, TX to load/unload materials and assist with machine shop operations including CNCs, mills, routers, saws and presses. Safety is core; you will help maintain a clean workspace and support quality checks.

• Basic math skills for simple calculations in daily shop tasks.
• Solid mechanical aptitude for interpreting drawings and specs.

• Clear communication with machinists and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Operation: assist with CNC machines, manual mills, routers, saws and presses.
• Shop Maintenance: keep the shop floor, machines and tools clean.
• Light Fabrication: assist with deburring, grinding and buffing tasks.
• Quality Control: inspect parts for defects and conformity.
• Assembly: help assemble components as required.
• Documentation: read and follow work instructions and shop orders.
• Safety: promote safety practices and adhere to protocols.
• Other Duties: support inventory control and material organization.

HPC-Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, is looking for a Machinist Helper to join their safety conscious team! This opportunity is based out of the La Porte, TX area. This team member will be responsible for loading and unloading materials, parts, and equipment, including materials movement, such as moving raw materials or finished parts.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Industrial setting, refinery, petrochemical, utilities etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Equipment Operation: Assisting with the operation of machine shop equipment, such as CNC machines, manual mills, routers, and various saws, cutters, and presses.
• Shop Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining the shop floor, machines, and equipment.
• Light Fabrication: Assisting with basic fabrication tasks, such as deburring, grinding, and buffing.
• Quality Control: Checking parts for defects and ensuring they meet quality standards.
• Assembly: Assisting with the assembly of components.
• Documentation: Reading and understanding work instructions and shop orders.
• Safety: Promoting safety practices and adhering to safety protocols.
• Other Duties: Performing other tasks as assigned, which may include inventory control, part identification, and material organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Basic Math Skills: Ability to perform simple calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Mechanical Aptitude: Understanding of basic mechanical principles and shop practices.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move materials, and stand for extended periods.
• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with other team members.
• Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with machinists, supervisors, and other shop personnel.
• Basic Safety Knowledge: Understanding of basic safety practices in a machine shop environment.
