Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years in irrigation, agricultural or industrial maintenance.
  • Technical training in mechanical or electrical systems preferred.
  • Ability to read maps, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • First Aid and CPR certification required or able to obtain.

AgriNorthwest is seeking a knowledgeable Irrigation Technician to join our local farm team!

Summary:

The Irrigation Technician II independently performs maintenance, repair, and operational activities on irrigation systems and related equipment. This position supports efficient water delivery, identifies and resolves routine system issues, and helps maintain system reliability.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate, maintain, and repair irrigation systems and related equipment.
  • Inspect system components and identify repair or maintenance needs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve routine mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and operational issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on irrigation equipment and infrastructure.
  • Monitor system performance and report opportunities for improvement.
  • Complete maintenance records, inspections, and work orders accurately.
  • Operate vehicles, tools, and equipment necessary to perform assigned work.
  • Support irrigation improvement and installation projects.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with facility and property maintenance activities as needed.
  • Respond to emergency repairs and operational issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of irrigation, agricultural maintenance, industrial maintenance, or related experience.
  • Technical training in mechanical or electrical systems preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret maps, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Working knowledge of irrigation equipment, pumps, valves, and water distribution systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • First Aid and CPR certification required or ability to obtain.

  • Noise levels may range from moderate to loud, depending on equipment operation and task being performed.
  • Work hours may vary due to operational needs and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, extended shifts, or seasonal demands.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety glasses, protective footwear, hearing protection, and respirators, will be provided as required by law and company policy. Employees are required to properly use designated PPE when tasks require it.
