Job summary

Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking an Irrigation Technician to support maintenance, repair, and monitoring of the golf course irrigation system. You will work with pumps, piping, valves, and spray heads, performing preventive tasks and emergency fixes as needed.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of golf course maintenance experience and familiarity with basic irrigation practices; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• At least one year of golf course maintenance experience and familiarity with basic irrigation practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist Manager or Irrigation Technician II in maintaining and performing repairs on complex irrigation (automatic) systems.
• Hand waters golf course as directed by supervisors.
• Perform technical tasks and manual labor involved in maintaining and repairing golf course irrigation systems.
• Operate and maintain pumping equipment.
• Read water flow meters.
• Repair broken pipe and swing joints.
• Perform preventive maintenance on Cla-valves, PRV screens (including pressure settings).
• Change head spacing for more effective water distribution.
• Raise or lower irrigation heads as required.
• Monitor and reset angle of spray on part-circle heads so that only turf is irrigated.
• Maintain drainage systems and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors and management.
