Job summary

Desert Mountain Club is seeking an Irrigation Technician to join the Agronomy team in Scottsdale, AZ. You will assist in maintaining, repairing, and monitoring the golf course irrigation system, including pumps, piping, valves, and PRV components.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of golf course maintenance experience and is familiar with basic irrigation practices. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and a team-oriented attitude is essential.

• At least one year of experience in golf course maintenance and familiarity with basic irrigation practices are preferred.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic is desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist Manager or Irrigation Technician II in maintaining and performing repairs on complex irrigation systems.
• Hand water golf course as directed by supervisors.
• Perform tasks and labor involved in maintaining and repairing irrigation systems.
• Operate and maintain pumping equipment.
• Read water flow meters.
• Repair broken pipe and swing joints.
• Perform preventive maintenance on valves and PRV screens and adjust pressure as needed.
• Change head spacing for more effective water distribution.
• Raise or lower irrigation heads as required.
• Monitor and adjust spray angles to irrigate turf only.
• Maintain drainage systems and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors and management.

JOB DETAILS

Responsibilities:

• Assist Manager or Irrigation Technician II in maintaining and performing repairs on complex irrigation (automatic) systems.
• Hand waters golf course as directed by supervisors.
• Perform technical tasks and manual labor involved in maintaining and repairing golf course irrigation systems.
• Operate and maintain pumping equipment.
• Read water flow meters.
• Repair broken pipe and swing joints.
• Perform preventive maintenance on Cla-valves, PRV screens (including pressure settings).
• Change head spacing for more effective water distribution.
• Raise or lower irrigation heads as required.
• Monitor and reset angle of spray on part-circle heads so that only turf is irrigated.
• Maintain drainage systems and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors and management.
