Peabody Landscape Group in Columbus, OH is seeking an Irrigation Technician to install, service, and winterize irrigation systems on residential and commercial properties around Central Ohio. The role offers an hourly wage of $20–$26 based on experience and certification.

You will diagnose on-site, read plans, adjust controllers and zones, perform spring startups and fall winterizations, and keep vehicles stocked.

Qualifications

• Experience with irrigation systems: installation, repair, or service.
• Knowledge of controllers, valves, heads, and backflow assemblies.
• Ability to read irrigation plans and troubleshoot in the field.
• Valid driver's license.
• Comfortable working outdoors through spring startup and fall winterization seasons.

Responsibilities

• Run spring startups: activate systems, check zones, and adjust heads and coverage.
• Diagnose and repair leaks, broken heads, valves, and wiring issues.
• Adjust controllers and zone run times for the season and site conditions.
• Run fall winterizations: blow out lines with compressed air ahead of freeze.
• Read irrigation plans and locate mainlines, laterals, valves, and backflow assemblies.
• Recognize backflow assembly issues and flag them for certified testing.
• Communicate clearly with the office and the client on site about system condition and repairs needed.
• Keep the service vehicle and equipment stocked, maintained, and ready for the next stop.
