Job summary

Black Butte Ranch in Central Oregon seeks an Irrigation Technician to operate, maintain, and repair our extensive irrigation systems across ranch grounds and homeowner properties.

You will diagnose leaks and controller issues, perform winterization and start-up, keep precise records, and collaborate with Maintenance, Grounds, and contractors to promote water efficiency while serving homeowners and guests.

Qualifications

• Experience with irrigation systems, landscape irrigation, plumbing, or related fields.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read irrigation layouts, diagrams, maps, and basic electrical schematics.
• Experience with tools and equipment used in irrigation projects.
• Experience in a resort or large property environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation systems.
• Diagnose leaks, valve failures, controller issues, and coverage problems.
• Repair/replace valves, sprinkler heads, controllers, wiring, and backflow components.
• Perform seasonal start-up, winterization, and maintenance.
• Keep accurate records and maintain irrigation maps and inventory.
• Provide professional customer service to homeowners and guests.
