Job summary

HES is seeking an Irrigation Manager to lead the maintenance and operation of a large multi-zone irrigation system on a major Higher Education campus. The role requires an active Texas Landscape Irrigator license and strong coordination with campus facilities and subcontractors.

The position oversees daily irrigation tasks, preventive maintenance, and budget considerations for labor and materials. A High School diploma is required, with a Bachelor's degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Landscape Irrigator License by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
• High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience in irrigation maintenance and operations on a large campus.
• Ability to read specifications, blueprints, and manuals.
• Strong communication with clients and subcontractors.

SUMMARY: Irrigation Manager is responsible for and accountable for maintaining the large multi zone irrigation system on a large Higher Ed Campus. Supervises and performs daily, specialty tasks such as scheduling irrigation repairs, maintenance, operations and irrigation audits.The Primary responsibility of the Irrigation Manager is to direct daily operations related the the grounds maintenance of irrigation systems across the campus. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must have an active Landscape Irrigator License by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Will be required to provide a copy of your licensure.

• Ability to understand specifications, blueprints, manuals and schematic drawings for installation, maintenance and repair of structures and equipment.
• Ability to effectively communicate in meetings with client and subcontractors regarding grounds and irrigation maintenance

PREFERRED REQUIREMENT: Experience with Toro Sentinel Irrigation Control System or similar computer irrigation software programs.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees or the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
