Job summary

Forest Lawn is seeking an Irrigation Specialist to maintain and operate irrigation systems across landscaped memorial park spaces. You will apply reclaimed and domestic water according to schedules, perform repairs, and manage irrigation controllers while ensuring safety and accuracy.

You will work alone at times, follow written schedules, and assist with grounds maintenance tasks as directed by the Grounds Supervisor. Strong attention to detail and physical capability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Operate heavy equipment and hand tools (shovels, wrenches, etc.).
• Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
• Must lift up to 100 lbs.
• Valid driver's license with insurance as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and program irrigation controllers or apply water manually per written schedule from Grounds Supervisor.
• Observe system operations and report deficiencies in writing at end of shift.
• Identify and repair sprinkler heads, pipes, valves, and other irrigation components.
• Irrigate interment spaces as scheduled and address dry patches proactively.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and vehicle; report hazards.
• Assist families with grounds maintenance requests as needed.
