Job summary

Mass General Brigham Healthcare at Home seeks an MRI Technologist to operate MRI equipment and produce diagnostic scans with high quality and safety. You will position patients, select factors, and reformat data for optimal imaging, while ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout procedures.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Diagnostic Imaging required.
  • MRI Tech experience with multiple patient populations; 2-3 years required.
  • Licenses: Radiologic Technologist and Technician; MRI technologist (ARRT) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Positioning and immobilization of patients; selection of technical factors; data reformatting for optimal MRI scans.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, transport and assist as needed.
  • Explain procedures to patients, considering physical and emotional needs.
  • Prepare and clean equipment and scanner room; stock supplies.
  • Perform daily QA on MRI scanners and report malfunctions.
  • Maintain pertinent records; may assist new staff or students.

Overview

Responsible for providing quality patient care while producing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures safely while operating the MRI equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans.

Essential Functions
  • Accountable for the positioning and immobilization of patients and proper selection of technical factors along with computer reformatting of acquired data to obtain magnetic resonance scans procedures of optimal quality.
  • Prepares patients for procedures which may include transporting, transferring, immobilizing, and positioning patients.
  • Explains procedures to patients taking into consideration physical and emotional needs.
  • Prepares and cleans the equipment and scanner room for each patient. Stocks and supplies room as needed.
  • Performs daily quality assurance on MRI scanners and verifies the safe operation of all other patient equipment and notifies appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions and needed repairs.
  • Maintains pertinent records.
  • May provide assistance to new staff or students.
Education

Associate's Degree in Diagnostic Imaging required.

Licenses and Credentials
  • Radiologic Technologist and Technician [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred
  • Registered Technologist [R.T.(ARRT)] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred
  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging [R.T.(MR)(ARRT)] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred
  • Personal Driver's License (New Hampshire) - New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles preferred
  • Magnetic Resonance Technologist [MRI - New Hampshire] - New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy preferred
Experience

MRI Tech experience with multiple patient populations; 2-3 years required.

Pay Range

Min: $65.00

Mid: $80.00
