Job summary

Cianbro is seeking skilled Craft Professionals in Norwalk, CT to safely position and connect structural steel members, read blueprints, and operate hoisting equipment on active construction sites.

You will hoist beams and girders with cranes, verify alignment, and follow hand signals to ensure accurate assembly. NCCER certification is a plus; 3+ years of rigging experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience with layout, connecting, and rigging.
• Ability to work at all heights.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret symbols on plans.
• Prior rigging knowledge including hand signals and inspection.

Responsibilities

• Safely position and unite steel girders, columns, and other structural members.

Job Responsibilities

• Safely position and unite steel girders, columns, and other structural members to form completed structures or structural frameworks.
• Read specifications and blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
• Set up hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural steel members.
• Hoist steel beams, girders, and columns into place using cranes, using hand signals, and tag lines.
• Verify alignment and plumbing of steel structures and make corrections to erected structures as needed.
• Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts following blueprints using various bolts, nuts, washers, and torquing.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience with layout, connecting, and rigging.
• The ability to work at all heights is a must.
• Ability to read blueprints, interpret symbols and abbreviations on plans and drawings.
• Prior rigging experience to include knowledge of hand signals, rigging gear, inspection, and proper use.
• NCCER certification is a plus.

Compensation is determined based on factors such as experience, knowledge, qualifications, and performance. The compensation range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00 and is exclusive of any other benefit and/or bonus. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued growth.
